Football v Homophobia 2023 Award Winners!

Brighton Seagals were crowned winners of the ‘Women’s Game’ category at the Football v Homophobia 2023 awards, hosted at the National Football Museum yesterday. The 2023 national awards shortlist was published earlier this month, with Seagals up against Helen Hardy and Sheffield United Women who are also recognised for their continued efforts to support their local LGBTQ+ communities.

Our Club Secretary, Justine, attended the awards ceremony in Manchester and had the task of successfully transporting the winners trophy home to the south coast in one piece via several trains!

Thank you to those who nominated and to the judging panel for recognising all our hard work on and off the pitch to make football a more welcoming place for LGBTQ+ people.

You can read a full round up of the awards, sponsored by EE Hope United and SkySports, on the FvH website here.
