League Football: SCWGFL Div 1

League Team

Brighton Seagals compete in Sussex County Women & Girls Football League (SCWGFL) Division 1 with training on Tuesday and matches on Sunday.

League football is a season-long commitment, ideal for players wanting to be part of a competitive and progressive football environment. The squad are lead by our all-female coaching team, who have vast experience playing and coaching in the women & girls game.

Season timeline:

Off-Season (May/June) - the club holds open sessions for any players interested in joining the league squad for the upcoming season. This is usually a mixture of returning players and those new to the club. Coaches select the squad, with the SCWGFL allowing a squad cap of 25 players.

Pre-Season (July/August) - training begins and friendly matches take place in preparation for the season start.

Playing Season (September-April) - the team trains every week with matches most weekends across the league, league cup and county cup.
